{"id":46,"date":"2019-08-23T15:14:23","date_gmt":"2019-08-23T14:14:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lida-vets.co.uk\/news\/?p=46"},"modified":"2021-05-27T09:46:27","modified_gmt":"2021-05-27T08:46:27","slug":"ready-to-be-cool-this-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lida-vets.co.uk\/news\/ready-to-be-cool-this-summer\/","title":{"rendered":"Ready to be cool this summer?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ilan Lay, Clinical Director, at Lida Vets, is reminding people how to keep their dogs cool this Summer.<\/p>\n<p>Ilan says, \u201cIt&#8217;s important to ensure your pet has access to shade and plenty of water during sunny days.<\/p>\n<p>Never leave them in a hot place from which they cannot leave\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the best tips to keep your dog cool this summer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Let your dog lie on a wet towel, or a towel over an ice pack<\/li>\n<li>Create an area of shade for them with a blanket, a coat or a towel<\/li>\n<li>Bring a water bowl (collapsible are available) on your walks in the hot weather, so your pet can hydrate frequently.<\/li>\n<li>Put a fan or air conditioning on to keep areas cool<\/li>\n<li>Trim their hair if possible, to help keep them cool<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your pet\u2019s safety during the summer should be a priority for you.
